“Optimize your funnel.”the entire marketing-technology industry, in unison

The Translation

Every funnel you’ve ever been sold is a tollbooth. The buyer wants help; the machine wants a form. Name, email, phone: pay the toll or the gate stays down. Then the industry measures the tollbooth’s take and calls it conversion.

The Floor

A bartender pouring a regular's drink before he asks: memory, applied with restraint

Watch what a good salesperson does with a human being: helps first. Answers the actual question. Gives the number. The contact information shows up on its own, because people hand their number to someone who just helped them. Same as it’s worked on a showroom floor for a hundred years.

What Got Built Instead

A conversation that earns the contact before asking for it. The buyer doesn’t feel processed. They feel helped. And the deal moves, because being helped is what actually makes people buy.

The pipeline is the exhaust of generosity, not the price of admission.

Their funnel charges admission. Ours holds the door.
